
Defending champions KCCA FC extended their lead at the Azam Uganda Premier League table on Friday, beating Police FC, three goals to nil in a match played at Lugogo.
Prodigal son Geoffrey Sserunkuma’s first half brace and a beautiful header from Hakim Ssenkumba were enough to ensure Jennifer Musisi’s boys bagged all the 3 points at the Phillip Omondi stadium.
In the 8th minute,a Joseph Ochaya cross was well received by former Sc Villa skipper Isaac Muleme who their laid a pass for Sserunkuuma to put the ball in the empty net for the opener.
Meanwhile, the home side were at it again four minutes later when Hakim Ssenkumba set Sserunkuuma to score the second goal.
The Kasasiro boys continued tormenting Sam Timbe’s boys who seemed clueless with veteran striker Peter Ssenyonjo always trying to beat the KCCA defence only to stagger.
In the 70th minute, second half substitute Paul Musamali’s cross was well received Derrick Nsibambi for a beatiful header that ensured the defending champions sealed off the game on Friday at the Philip Omondi stadium.
The win ensured KCCA FC are 3 points clear of second placed Vipers who have nineteen points on the Azam Uganda Premier League.
Police remain in the second bottom place with only seven points collected from 10 games played.
Geoffrey Sserunkuma is joint top scorer together with Arua based side Onduparaka’s Muhammad Shaban with 6 goals.
