The quarter final return leg between Uganda’s top giants Makerere and Kyambogo in the University Football League (UFL) is set to be played behind closed doors on Friday, ChimpSport has learnt.

According to Anthony Tumwesigye, the University Football League manager, as organizers, they had decided as a way of taming the growing indiscipline among the supporters of the  2 teams to let the game be played  in an empty stadium.

“We must punish them (supporters) for ashaming us in the previous game between the 2 teams,” Tumwesigye told this website on Wednesday morning.

He says they could not allow such indiscipline continue and had to act accordingly adding the game to be played at the Luzira prison based Maroon stadium had been moved to Thursday.

Last month, only prisons officers saved the situation after Makerere University supporters clashed with their counterparts from Kyambogo at the Maroons stadium in the University Football League.

A mini scuffle erupted a few minutes to the start of the game but this lasted shortly but Makerere university supporters were at it again during recess provoking their counterparts from Kyambogo before a fight broke up.

However, it took the intervention of plain clothed prisons officers who swung into action flogging the stubborn Ivory Tower supporters before sanity resumed at the stadium.

Makerere won the first leg quarter final encounter, thanks to Joshua Lubwama’s 2 goals in either half of the game.
